TIME GOES BY

Time is the most undefinable yet paradoxical of things; the past is gone, the future is not come, and the present becomes the past even while we attempt to define it, and, like the flash of lightning, at once exists and expires.

Do you know that I'm 64 Years old?
I'm 770 months old.
I'm 3, 347 weeks old.
I'm 23, 432 days old.
I'm 33,741,676 minutes old..and older as you read this.
I'm 2,024,500,609 seconds old!...and counting!
I was born on a Thursday and my date of conception was on or about June 3rd, 1943!
My fortune cookie reads: Your heart is pure, and our mind clear, and your soul devout!

If you think I've flipped my lid and spent all day on a calculator, I haven't! Well, maybe flipped my lid, but I'm terrible with numbers and a calculator never saves me either.
Here's a fun little site that will give you the same information, plus MANY more little facts, that is kind of fun to read.

Well, we've checked the computer many times since this morning, for news from Roxanne on how TJ is doing and all reports are wonderful! She is having a good time and Roxanne just loves her. We are all so relieved it's gone so well. I'll post more pictures as I get them.
This morning, Tom's son Martin and my fun daughter in law, came over and we went for breakfast. Then to Mark's Work Wearhouse where I bought shoes. I couldn't believe the nice shoes they sell there. Really cute ones! So we had a nice visit and Martin cleaned up my computer and took out all the junk files I seem to accumulate. He also, disgustedly, but nicely, suggested, I clean out the crumbs from my keyboard! (Wonder how they got there!) There is just no place or time, when I'm not eating, I guess! Maybe that's why I had to use a pin to hold my zipper on my slacks closed this morning!! Hmmm!
Then Tom and I walked to the Library, with me trying out my new shoes...running shoes. However they must be broke, because I couldn't run in them, only walk!
Okay..bad joke!
I brought home a slew of books to read, and only last night, started one that is really going to be good, so I'll have to start speed reading to get them all finished. Thank goodness for retirement. Some good retired people volunteer, or do productive things....I read and play on the computer...and eat! However, next week is rug shampooing time, both inside and on the deck and doing windows and other things. You will have to read my blog for next week and see if I stick to what I just wrote!! They are just plans, not promises!!
After all...I'm sixty-four years old and that's pretty darn old, plus my mind is becoming very forgetful, so I may forget what I just wrote! Ha!! Good excuse eh?
Picture of the day: This is Mike (the old guy), whose birthday was on Friday and I tried to call, but he skipped out of work early and I missed him! Mike and I have known each other for MANY years and he's just one of the greatest guy's I know. He has a gentle and kind spirit and also a very talented musical person who has written a Christmas story, a musical and also written the music for it as well. He's been a good friend, a confident and been there to listen when the chips we're down, and just a great pal! So, Mike, I wish you a Very Happy Birthday!! We've had many good laughs over the year and I miss those great times. Mike is also retiring within the next month so Congratulations are in order!! Enjoy your retirement Mike and if you need some good reading suggestions, give me a call!!! Cute Grandson too!!

Quote for the day: Time is the most undefinable yet paradoxical of things; the past is gone, the future is not come, and the present becomes the past even while we attempt to define it, and, like the flash of lightning, at once exists and expires.

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

HEY!!!! THERE'S A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK!!

Roxanne waited and worried about TJ. The plane was 45 minutes late! Where's my new dog??
Awwww, she looks so scared and wants out of there sooo badly. Who are all these people???

Finally...TJ is with his new MOM!

This is Linda who came to visit in Vancouver and came to help me off the plane. She's a really nice lady!

I'm checking this place out...it's very nice!

Wow!! look at this big backyard This is going to be really neat!

I can't get out, so I'm going to be safe here!

I thought I was safe, until I saw this fellow. He's not friendly like Batman. He keeps hissing at me!

Ohhh my gosh....another cat!! Don't go in there fella, you may end up in Vancouver!!

Ohh, another little cute cat, but this one is terrified of me. Here kitty, kitty, come be my friend!

If I could only figure out how this cat/dog door works. If the cats can do it, I can!

This is the nice lady who lives next door! She seems nice and I bet she'll pass cookies over the fence to me.

What a day! I wonder what my Vancouver Mom and Dad are doing. Oh well, I'm tired, so will think about it tomorrow!

Roxanne said TJ is settling in and seems content and just busy taking everything in, but will soon feel right at home.

It's really windy in Vancouver today and everything on the patio has blown every which way. I envy TJ in the warm Ontario weather! Soon, hopefully, the warm air will be here too.

We went out for Pizza last night, and Tom was up all night with a bad stomach, which isn't surprising, as it happens time and time again, yet it looks too yummy to pass up. I didn't even hear him! Tom said, I just continued to snore without missing a beat! How embarrassing!!

We are just getting ready to go out, so I have to end this. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Back tomorrow!!

Byeeeee

ONE IS MISSING

HELLO TO MY NEW MOM ROXANNE

And hello to my new brother and sister....more CATS!! One of them doesn't like me very much! He looks just like Batman, so I thought I still had my friend with me, but it turned out this cat, only looked like Batman. He's mean and he hisses at me and makes me very scared. I have to run to my new MOM for protection.

This cat is not afraid of me like Batman was, so Ihave to say, I do miss my old friend Batman!!
My cage that I was shipped in was comfy and I had my clothes packed with me. (Yes, I have my raincoats and my handmade woolen sweaters with me to keep me warm in the Ontario winters.)
We had to get up at 4 am. and I was all snuggled in with my Vancouver Mom and Dad, and couldn't figure out why they were getting up and dressed so early in the morning. I knew it has something to do with me, because I heard my name mentioned often. Something was up!!!
Then all of a sudden we were going in the car and I was all excited to be going somewhere. I sure didn't know how far I was going!! I might have just stayed in bed!!
I had to stay in my cage and some man took me away from Vancouver Mom and Dad. I hardly had time to say goodbye and I could see tears in their eye's and then I became afraid, when I saw them walking away without me. The man took me someplace, and after waiting for awhile, I ended up going on a really fast baggage cart to a huge big plane. They put me in the plane and I was really scared with the banging and clanging, but all of a sudden a big noise started up and I could feel us up in the air. I'd done this before one time, so I knew what it was. I was going on a trip!! A holiday.....a vacation!! Yipppeee.
Then all of a sudden, I was on another fast ride on a baggage cart, and someone was mentioning my name again.
All of a sudden, there were two ladies. They looked familiar, but one sounded and looked like my Vancouver Mom, and I really like her. I think she's going to be my new MOM. She fed me and gave me water and a little walk. It was nice in warm in Ontario.
Then we went for ride in the car and and we came to a really nice house, that I'm going to like living in, it has a nice back yard and tons of room and My new Mom is REALLY NICE. I'm just not too sure about these cats, but I'll win them over and before you know it, we will be friends. I just hope they don't take my dog bones. I'll really have to hide them well now!!
Well, I can't send pictures of TJ's big day. The pictures Roxanne sent was on some kind of program that won't allow me to save them. Maybe she will send them again, in normal format, so I can show you some on tomorrow's blog.
Well, my favourite show Survivor starts now and because we've been up since 4am, I can hardly keep my eyes open, so will make this a REALLY short blog and catch up tomorrow.
Love from Tom and Linda and Batman
and TJ
we miss you!!

BUTTERFLIES

Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine.

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun and find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

I also have butterflies in my tummy today, because tomorrow our Maltese is leaving to live in Ontario. This is harder then I thought!! But, I think TJ, and Tom and I, will all have more freedom to enjoy outdoors, as Roxanne has a backyard and for Tom and I, we will have freedom to go places without having to be home for the dog. And condo on the 7th floor is not a place for a dog to romp and play. It's all good!

Nothing special happening today. I walked the dog over to the Mall where Tom goes to the chiropractor and then we went for lunch. Came home and gave the dog a bath, getting her ready for the big trip East. Since then, I've been playing on the computer. So, I really don't have much to tell you about.

Started a new book last night while having my bath, called "Shoot The Moon", by Billie Letts

I'm a bathtub reader!! I'm always anxious to get dinner over, and chores done and then the rest of the night is mine and hot bath...here I come! Tom is a reader as well, and he came across a book from the Library the other day and I think he read it non-stop, he enjoyed it so much. I can't think of the title or author. Not my type of book. He likes Naval war stories.

It's so relaxing and glorious to lay in the hottest water I can stand and when it cools off, my big toe, reaches up to turn the hot tap on, to keep that warm comfy feeling going. Sometimes, a cup of tea or a glass of wine is enjoyed along with my book. Wonderful!!!

So, I'm leaving you with another short blog. Maybe if some people left just a little hello in the "View The Guestbook" on this page, then it may encourage me to write more.

I had to take off the COMMENT section because some mean person left me with a lovely virus when I clicked on it. Luckily, I have a good virus checker and no harm was done. I don't understand why people have such an evil and mean spirited personality. I tracked the person IP down and it came from Brazil!! So up yours Buddy!!!

Picture of the Day: Tom enjoying a coffee at Tim Horton's (of course), with his retired Fireman Friends. Doug, Tom and another friend (forget his name...sorry) You can tell it's a Tim Horton's by the line-up....isn't there always one!

Comment of the day: Everybody should believe in something. I believe I'll have another coffee.

THREE LITTLE ANGELS

Three Little Angels, I wonder who they could be??

Let's call one Erica, one is Sarah and other other Erin.

I'm not sure if they are PERFECT angels, but I bet close to it. Erica and Sarah are my granddaughter's and Erin is my daughter. I'm really doubtful Erin is an angel!!! I know too much!!

I know Erica is either getting her grades up, or reading the Bible! (wrote with tongue in cheek), Sarah won third prize at the Science Fair on the weekend! Way to go Sarah!!!

I also hear that Spring has hit Ontario finally! I keep sending home wonderful pictures of what Spring in Vancouver is like now, and I know you felt like hitting me over the head! Then this morning news of the flooding to hit the Moira River in Belleville. Not good news for those living along the River. I know what it's like to have a flood in the house and my sympathies are with you all!

Here are few more pictures we took at the dog park recently. One woman was walking all those big dogs.

At Doggie Park, look toward the Lion's Gate Bridge

Looking West. See the mountains in the distance. That's Victoria!!
Some flowers I stopped to take a picture of today. Pretty arn't they!!

Tom walking through Doggie Park

Tom sitting in and enjoying the sun!

That's it folks for today. Lots of pictures, so don't need picture of the day. Besides, the more I add the more you have to scroll down to the previous blog! Just can't seem to find out a better way of doing this without that happening!

LAZY MOODY MONDAY

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY

The sun is shining but there is a cool wind today. It would be a great day to hang out clothes, if I was doing a wash and if I had a clothesline.

Now, that's one household chore, I did not mind doing....hanging up clothes and the sight of them blowing in the breeze, and the beautiful fresh smell when taking them back in again.

I love the smell of fresh line-dried sheets on the clothesline and have wonderful memories of being tucked in as a child to that lovely smell. Mmmm, what nice memories!!

Last night we went to a Greek restaurant near Mount Seymour and had rack of lamb. This place was recommended to us, but I doubt if we will be back. It was just okay, nothing spectacular.

After dinner we took a drive up to the top of the Mount Seymour, and what a climb it was! My ears kept popping as we went further up in altitude. We reached the top and the snow banks were so high in the parking lot, that we couldn't see much of a view and I had on a pair on light, new shoes, so didn't want to mess about climbing in the snow. So, we'll just do it again in the summer and I'll send some pictures then.

Today, I did a small bit of cleaning, getting TJ's blankets washed and her crate ready to send her to Ontario to my sisters. It's not going to be as easy as I thought!! I think there will be quite a few tears shed, until we get her sent and then get use to her being gone. I keep telling myself, we are only sending her on vacation and we will see her next year when we go home. Plus, we know where she's going and how it will be better for her, then in an apartment with two people too lazy to walk her. Plus, we will get lots of updates and pictures of her to see how she loves it there.

I'm sitting her typing this and my eyes are trying to close on me. So, I think seeing as I don't have anything to say, I'll close this off, and say tally-ho for today.
Hope everyone is having a good Monday.
Sorry this is so boring, but as I said, it's a lazy, moody Monday!

Picture of the day: The Seawall, about 1 1/2 blocks from where we live and where I just be right now, getting some exercise, walking it!! It's a beautiful walk!!!
Thought of the day: No day is so bad it can't be fixed with a nap.

HI YA ON SUNDAY

HI YA ON SUNDAY

From all the many dogs we seen at Doggie Park, this morning and those few cat's we didn't see, we all send you a Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was our Red Hat Murder Mystery Party! it was loads of fun, good laughs, good company and good food. Nobody guessed who the murderer was, but I almost wrote down her name and then at the last minute, changed it, which proves...always go with your gut feeling!

The ones of us who had parts, had to dress and act the part all day while the game went on.

On the left, we had the inspector, who didn't realize she was sitting next to our little, innocent looking Indian lady in her Sari. She was the MURDERER! Nex to her, Sharon was dolled up as a society girl and was in a long dress.

This is Gert who" I think owned a sports team" I forget her part, but she was great in it. Next to her was the poor lady who had 15 kids!! Behind are the ladies wearing the red hats who were the spectators.

Below, this role was the sports person, who was into diving. What a get up eh? She won best costume.

On the left is the biker chick who was really good in her part. I'm not sure what part the middle player was suppose to be, and next was the girl who rode horses.

I had a very small part of owning a restaurant and was more of a gossiper and told what I heard the other suspects saying in conversation.

Between acts, we ate, talked and sat outside on a beautful day in a beautiful place.

So, that was yesterday! Today was just out for breakfast and then taking the dog for a walk, then home and I've been on here ever since. Tom has been on his computer. Now we are both going to read our books, that we can't get our noses out of. I have no idea what is for supper but the fridge is full, so we won't starve!

Picture of the day: This is one of the Spirit Bears they had all over Vancouver and area last summer and then they were auctioned off. The one at our shopping center has a bear holding a Maltese like TJ. The bears we're all handpainted to depict life around the city. It's a very interesting site if you'd like to go have a look at all the wonderful idea's they had for painting them. Some we're bought privately and some by businesses for their storefronts. I wanted on, but couldn't afford the price. I think they raised money for Easter Seals

Thought of the day: In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit
