PEEKING IN TO SAY HELLO

Hello Down There!

Well, they sure all like a bunch of little nerds, don't they? Peeking down to see what you are doing. What ARE you doing, on a Sunday afternoon?
If anyone noticed,I missed writing the blog for the first time since I started it in January of this year. I was so exausted last night when we got home, and aching in all my bones. So, I just had a bath and already Tom was in bed.

We met Joan and Martin for breakfast on their side of town in Ladner. We switch almost every week. Then we went to one of my favourite things!! Betty, can you guess what it is?
Meredith and Dave had a big one and this is their 3rd one this month to get rid of two big homes, to move into one and selling all things in both houses and buying everything new! I wish I had of been at the first and second sale, because the third sale had some GREAT buys!

Some Great Bargains!!

Just some of the great buys, much went before I took these pictures!

Needless to say, I came home with a few things! A lovely wicker bakers rack, which is in the hallway until we decide if we like it there. Also some little baskets, a clock, and some other nice stuff. I wanted it All!! It's a good thing we don't have a basement!

Then Joan and her sister Gloria and I went shopping and to test out Gloria's new beautiful Mazda. Lovely car and fun people to shop with.

By this time, my energy was starting to drain, and it was time to head back and meet 14 of family members for Chinese Food at a restauant.

Diane (Kevin's Step-Mother), Kevin, Heather (Tom's Granddaughter and she holding baby Byron), The groom and bride to be, Dave and Meredith

Gloria (Joan's sister) reading to the kids of Kevin's sister Kim,Then Kevin's father and his wife Dianne

Linda and her step-son Martin having hug, while Joan stresses over the mounting bill!

Can't you see the wheels turning in her head while she calculated who owes what! Glad she did it, or we'd still be there!!

Baby Bryron, and his Nana (I've been blessed with a name for him to call me...I love it!)Well, that's all for my blog today. I have much to do, and I have the bathroom all pulled apart trying out the new, beautiful new bathroom drapes for the tub, that I got at the sale. Are they nice!!! But not sure if they are going to make out bathroom on the small side looking. Colours can do that and I'm so terrible with colours!!!

Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow

Friend or Foe?

MAYBE JUST ENTERTAINMENT FOR THEM BOTH
What will be entertaining for you this weekend? Has any of your travel plans changed because of the price of gas?

Goodness, the airlines are cutting down on everything they can think of now. Charging even for the luggage. $15.00 for the first bag and $25.00 for the second! Not to mention all the other charges for this and that!

It's not going to change my driving pattern, not that I drive very far anymore but to those people that have many miles to get to work....I don't envy them! Luckily we can walk to wherever we may need something, so that's good! Now to convince my legs to think it's good to walk!!

I had a leisurly sleep-in this morning and didn't get up until about 11. I slept the whole time too. Tom was up, and made breakfast....well.....a bowl, a spoon, the milk and the cereal on the table for me. How can it get better then that!!

Then we walked to the Library, where I returned the one book I read, and took back 3, that I changed my mind about and picked up 3 more to bring home. So, thats about been our day! Not really exciting but enjoyable just the same. Tom is now making something in the kitchen, I wonder what he's making? Could it be supper? I hear him setting the table too. Ohhhh wow!! He's really a terrific guy!!

Well everyone, have great weekend, be safe, have fun, and may the sun shine all weekend!

AND THAT YOU ARE.....WONDERFUL!

Hi everyone who passes this way now and then! I hope you had good day wherever you are!

The day started out not very promising looking weatherwise, but it wasn't long into the day, that we were stripping off sweaters and either rolling down car windows, or jacking the air conditioning up. It got really hot!!

You'd never know that gas was expensive around our house, as off we went to fill up and go on another little jaunt with our GPS, leading us all the way. I've been driving on these little trips we make, and find that the GPS, actually helps me to relax more as I can then sort of look around for landmarks, knowing that our GPS pilot, named Jill will tell me when to make the next turn and in how many metres. Not that the metre's thing helps me much, as I never did know the difference, between an inch and 6 inches.....hardy har, har har!!! ( Oh yes, I DO!!) But, joking aside, I'm worse with metric!

All of a sudden Tom will decide to make a little detour, and Jill is forever trying to get us back on track and forever is saying "repositioning", and we swear her voice gets more annoyed with these two dummies she got stuck with. I told Tom, one of these times, her arm is somehow coming out of the GPS and giving him a smack on the head!!

Anyway, we ended up at another Mall. Don't ask me which one, as my memory isn't any better then my math! But it was out in Langley for those that know Vancouver area.
Tom sits and reads and off I go looking. I swore I wasn't going to buy a thing, but found this nice cool looking summer blouse, and a bright sunny yellow, sort of weavy type material in a light pull-over for our trip to Alaska. Then I found a red summer hat with a REALLY WIDE brim that sort of bends this way and that, and I could see the potential for making it into a nifty hat for the Red Hat group. I'll have to take it to Michaels for some flowers and trim for it. Actually, it's kind of comical looking and should really be on a horse, like you'd see pulling a cart with his ears sticking out.
Tom say's "I thought you wern't going to buy anything?".. My reply was..."It was a great deal...75% off!!" How can you pass up a deal like that, even though the clothes closet is jammed so full that everything I go to wear is so squashed, it has to be ironed first!

Thanks Connie for your message this morning. it was so great to hear from someone special from the College. Hopefully Brenda will send a little note too. I don't know why more people don't leave messages on the blog. Just my great supporters, Joan and Roxanne and Irene and even my 10 year old granddaughter got it to work. It must be very temperamental or something!
Connie....wow...35 years!! Where did the time go eh? You will love being retired and puttering around the beautiful home of yours. You won't even think of the College. The College sure sounds like it's changing. Is the Health Center in the same place? I doubt if it will ever get moved, for many reasons, I suppose.

Finished another good book last night, but can't remember the name right now. I really need to update my book list. Has anyone out there, read anything great that you could suggest?

We just finished a big dinner, and now, I'm ready for the bathtub and to start a new book.

Did anyone watch American Idol last night? I was so wishing the other David would have won. Both were really good! I especially enjoyed George Michael last night and he's in Vancouver soon. Any readers out there, interested in going to see him at the Casino??
Picture of the day: MMMMmmmm, don't these look good!!! Actually they are brought in from California. There is NOTHING like a strawberry, just fresh picked from the strawberry patch, and sun warmed, sweet, and juicy good!
Thought of the day: I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see.

Wednesday May 21/08

Hello on Wednesday

It seems May was a month of many birthdays, and I think we are done for a little while.

Yesterday, Tom took me on another GPS surprise trip and we ended up at a big mall in Vancouver. I love these little fun trips and a chance to see another side of Vancouver and different stores. I just bought two scatter mats for the bedroom and then we had a salad lunch.

Today, I was up early and over to see the dermatologist is North Vancouver. Remember I mentioned the spot on my cheek that was diagnosed as cancer. Well, it really was a nasty and weird looking infection, but it all cleared up on it's own and because I had been scheduled for plastic surgery on it this Friday, I thought, maybe the dermatologist should have another look at it before I had my face all cut up. He sprayed it with liquid nitrogen and I'm to use the cream that kills all the other cancer under my skin, but to wait until after our cruise. Sooo, I was very happy about that!! I've enough scars on my face!

Nothing else or interesting to tell you about, except, I should go for a walk, but I can't keep my eyes open! Man, I have to get myself back to walking, but need a fire lit up my behind to get me moving!! right now, the sleep sounds better.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Picture of the day:
The Seawall, where I should be walking!!!! It's a beautiful walk only two blocks from here and it goes all the way to Dunderave, the next little town. It's always full of people. I'm surprised I got a shot with nobody on it!

Thought of the day: A vigorous five-mile walk will do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the medicine and psychology in the world.(That may be so, but I'm heading for a snooze!!

BRAD IS SIXTEEN TODAY

HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY BRADLEY
Happy Birthday to my Grandson Brad! It seems this is the month for birthdays!!

We wish you all the happiness in the world Brad, and may all your birthdays be many and all full of fun times!

Brad came to Vancouver for a visit and here he is trying to make up his mind what to eat in an West Indian Restaurant. I think after reading the menu, we both ordered french fries!

Brad went horse back riding, and he's sitting here waiting for his horse to be saddled. It was a HOT day!
Okay horse, we are going to have a talk!!! No galloping fast, no bucking and don't throw me off!!!

Hey, this is a piece of cake!!! Giddy-up!!!

I was only 14 years old on the horse, now, I'm .......

NOOOOOO, it's not time to party YET!!!!!

Brad and James and Katie, have a band that plays really good tunes. Brad plays drums.

So, on your special day Brad, Tom and I wish you the greatest birthday ever!! Good luck with the year ahead, and come out again soon!

Remember this Brad!! It was soooo much fun that night as you tried to kill your old Grandmother, walking her through bushes, and telling me to take a step when there was no step there, and having me "ring the doorbell", when I was only pushing on a screw nail, while you were trying hard to keep from laughing!! What fun, what memories!!! I love you Sweetheart!!!!

Alway's have fun!! Alway's laugh, and Alway's remember I love you!

Sad News

Some sad news, just in this morning. Matt and Brad had to put down their beloved dog Sassy this morning. Sassy was old and suffered from arthritis and a very bad hip, plus he had a little accident this weekend that made the decision to put him down, a necessity. Not such a great birthday afterall Brad, but to everyone, we are so sorry! He was a great dog and had a great life with lots of love.

SARAH'S 10TH BIRTHDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY GRANDDAUGHTER

It's Sarah's 10th Birthday!!!!

Sarah is my youngest grandchild, and today she turns into the double digit's that kid's can hardly wait for! She's 10 years old and what a cutie she is.

Sarah is the little crafts person and artistic one in the family. She loves to make things and always has a project going on.

She is good in school and makes us all very proud of her. She fights with her sister, but that's pretty normal for a 10 year old.

Sarah has the biggest, deepest dimples in both cheeks, that are a sheer delight when she laughs and smiles.

On goes the life jacket! She's a daring little person!

Hang on Sarah, it's going to be a rough ride!!!

Here she is getting a worm ready to put on her line to catch a BIG fish!!

Because of the distance between us, I don't get to see Sarah growing up and I really regret that so much. Sometimes she will call me on her own, just to have a little gab fest with Grandma, and I love those times so much. Do it more Sarah, my sweetie, I miss you so much!

On your special day, I wish you all the wonders of the world ahead of you, and may they always be wonderful and be lovely surprises. I wish for you, all your wishes on stars come true.

So, my little Darling, have a wonderful 10th birthday and Tom and I will both be thinking of you on your big day!

SUNDAY BLOG/and short

Hello Everyone on Sunday

My blog today is falling by the wayside. I just don't have the energy to do it today. I'm like the sleeping dog in the picture with nothing bothering him, just too lazy to do anything period!!

We just got back from a lovely afternoon, celebrating a 60th Anniversary with some good friends, John and Mavis. It was a nice get together for a wonderful couple.

Tom is on his second snooze of the day! I can't keep my eyes open either. I was up quite late last night, not able to sleep, and watched 1 am roll around. So, seeing as we ate so much at the little party this afternoon, I'm not making any dinner, but going to have my bath and just read the night away until I fall asleep.

I hope everyone out there is having a relaxing weekend also, and just think....another day off tomorrow as well!! Every weekend should be a long weekend!
Catch you tomorrow!!
