I AM REALLY SORRY

No blog tonight, and likely not tomorrow night either! We we're at a wedding all day and again tomorrow for another, so, being the tired person that I am, I will just have to do a triple-whammy on Monday!
See you then

HORSESHOE BAY AND OTHER THINGS

Horseshoe Bay, BC

Another phone call to the Telus Phone Center and we are back in working order again!
I didn't take the picture above, I snatched it from the Internet.
This is where I lived with the "other" Tom, in my "other life" and where Lisa spent her first few months after birth before we moved back to Ontario.
Horseshoe Bay is also where we go to see our family doctor and sometimes have a delicious meal of fish and chips.
It's a really pretty place, although back in 1965, I was very homesick and didn't see the beauty at all. I wanted to go home!!
It's so ironic that 43 years later, here I am back in the old stomping grounds with another man the same name as the first!

I was so very young back then! Married at 18 and my first child at 21. Whenever we drive into Horseshoe Bay now, I can't help old ghosts of memories, creep into my mind, which really does seem like a past life now. So many years have gone by, so many changes in my life has taken place over this span of time. Some good, some bad, but all in all, I wouldn't change a thing of my life.

I'm just so thankful that I have the life I have now, with a wonderful husband (the best), and great children and grandchildren. What else could a woman ask for, except, love, peace, well-being and able to wake up each morning, filled with joy, and very happy to see a bright new day. All of this I have and I'm so thankful!
I believe in Guardian Angels!!

It's a beautiful day out there and as it's only 11:45 am, I have been lolly-gagging all morning talking to the computer help-line and then zipping around on the fixed computer, at much better speed, looking at different sites. It's time I get up and get something done!
Congratulations to my Granddaughter Erica who graduated from Gr. 8 to High School and was Valedictorian!!
Way to go Erica. We are sooo proud of you!!

To the rest of everyone out there, Have a Geat Weekend!!!!

WHAT BIRD

Hi again! Wow, what winds we have today! It's really blowing, yet the sun in shining and despite the wind, it's still very lovely out. Lots of white caps on the water and I wonder if it's rough out there on a cruise ship! The news is on and many places in BC are having trees fall and damage from gusts up to 100 mph.

Yesterday Tom's new computer router arrived and getting it hooked up and working was a challenge, but the bigger challenge was having to call the computer help line, which as it turned out is in the Philippines. We talked to a very helpful and extremely patient lady called Helen. I think we must have been on the phone with her for about an hour, both of us talking to her, while one of us did the hook-ups and the other, relaying the information she was telling us to do. I get so frazzled doing all this and anything technical between Tom and I, always turns out to be a big laugh!

Note: WEll, I already had filled this page with pictures and stuff, and everything got lost when I became disconnected and it didn't save what was there, beyond the last paragraph. Everything seems very unstable computer wise, so I'm just going to say goodnight to you and not to try doing it all over again. I'm frustrated and can NOT face phoning Telus technical support at the moment!

So, I bid you a sweet adieu!!

WEDNESDAY JULY 9TH

MOON AND STARS

Back again! It was another fun day with Tom today. I never know when we get up in the morning, what the day will bring. He's always full of surprises. Not fantastic, earth-shaking stuff, just the fun we have being together and enjoying everything we do.

We ended up way over in Vancouver somewhere, where he wanted to see a carving done by a fireman done with a chainsaw. This is the picture!

Then we checked out a wholesale place, and then a tour of Stanley Park. Here are some pictures, and some we're taken through the car window.

Lots of lovely shaded roads and big trees.

Horse caravan, full of tourist Looking toward North Vancouver

Looking towards the Lions Gate Bridge and statue of girl on a rock (didn't have time to zoom in the moving fast car!!)

The Cruise ship terminal where the Ryndam was docked getting ready to sail to Alaska tonight, the picture on the left is what's left of the snow on the mountains.

Tom got a new modem yesterday and my computer keeps disconnecting. I got this far yesterday and it quit on me, but the draft was saved. I couldn't get connected until now...Thursday July 10th, and I'm showing very slow speed on the connection, so I have to phone Telus...again!!
So, I'll try another blog for today, later on.

First of all before I show you some more pictures I took yesterday, I want to show where some people come from that read the blog. It's amazing and I thank you all!!

Map of the world. Under the mass of pins are more pins underneath!

Some more pictures from yesterday.

An old chair cut out of an old log. Looks comfy! Also a walk through the start of Doggie Park. Beautiful, winding pathway, then you come to the Ocean and the dogs are swimming and chasing balls and it's fun to see....another time, I'll show you!

This is the flower clock, but I took it from the car window not at a good angle. Also some lovely flowers!

That's it for today, and because of the pictures, you may have to scroll down to find yesterdays blog.

Ambleside

AMBLESIDE PICTURES

Well, I think I've figured out some of these digital bells and whistles, and some are flops, but their are many features on this camera and I find going out and taking the pictures and then reading the manual, seems to work better for me. It seems to begin to make sense just a tad more!

I took a walk down to the pier and turned around and shot a pictures of home, so the second large building on the right of the screen, three floors down, is our home. One side of balcony, we can see the next picture view. Then, the side you can't see is where the mountains are, which are to the right of the picture and you can't see them in this shot.

Now, when I turn around, this is what I see...the Pacific Ocean

This is walking down the Pier

At the end of the Pier, there is a guy fishing, sailboats and the Lion's Gate Bridge, also some boats out sailing. Also, the beach that is packed on weekends. Looking the other direction, is looking towards Dunderave.

One of the many birds looking for a free handout, and the picture on the right is the beautiful Sea Wall walk that goes all the way to Dunderave, the next little town. The tide is out, so you can see the seaweed.

Well, I can't put too many pictures at once on here as it slows down many computers, so tomorrow, I'll show you more of Ambleside, in West Vancouver. It's pretty darn nice here!!
See you tomorrow!

WEEKENDS OVER

KITES ON A SUMMER BREEZE

It arrives quickly and leaves at the speed of a flying bullet and the weekend is GONZO!! I hope everyone had a good one!

Faster then a speeding bullet!!

It was a great day here. Tom and I frittered away the morning having a late breakfast, reading the paper, catching up on email and then realized what time it was getting to be!

We had tickets to see The Producers, as I mentioned in the blog yesterday and I wasn't nearly ready when I saw the time.

I put on a lovely blouse I had bought some time ago, but was waiting for a special moment to wear it, so got all dolled up, and Tom said "WOW!", but then I turned around in the mirror and saw all these newly developed rolls on my back! Where'd they come from? Where they there yesterday??? So, whipped it off, and searched though everything to find a top to go with the mood I was in and the pants I was wearing! My goodness, if you seen the bedroom, which I just left until we got home, you would think we'd been robbed, with even one drawer out of the dresser and laying on the bed, clothes all over the place and my jewellery box, turned upside down, looking for those special earrings, I was going to wear with the first thing I had on!!

Not a fun thing to come home to!

Anyway, The Producer was GREAT!! We really enjoyed it and what energy and humor went into that show! I'm so glad we went! If you should get a chance...go see it!!

No pictures out of my camera yet!! Tomorrow for sure!!! Remember....I'm a slow learner!!

Anything involving technology and buttons and things to press, don't come easy to this old brain that never did have many brain cells and much less today, so have patience....because I'll probably bore you silly with them....eventually!

Sooooo......
