YES WE CAN

YES WE CAN!

( You would think I was American instead of Canadian, but it means much to us, north of the border as well, and I sure hope and pray that Obama can do what we all hope he can do)

While sitting here wondering what to write about tonight, I looked out and saw a squirrel hunting and storing nuts for Winter, and I thought I'd put some stuff about animals hibernating, seeing as I have some neat pictures to show you. But then Oprah came on and she viewed a new video that is out, called "Yes We Can". It's really great and if you haven't seen it, just click on the link below and enjoy. Hmmm, just tried it and it didn't work, so you may have to copy and paste the link into your viewer to see it.

Our TV seems to be always on CNN these days! I miss my reading, so will have to get back to that!!

I just finished a book called Small Island. It was really good!! One of those "meaty books" that you can really get into.

Also finished this book which took me a full 15 minutes or less to read. Usually Rohinton Mistry's books are thick and lots of great reading, so was surprised when the Library handed over, the hold I had on this one. It's the size of a children's book, complete with illustrations. But it was a very good little read. Sad, and a little humour at the same time.

Today, was another pouring, pelting down rain day! We ventured into Vancouver, to the Brazilian Consulate and now have our visa's to allow us into Brazil. Wow, does our passport look interesting with all those stamps in it now!!

Tomorrow, I go to my last RED HAT event. I just don't seem interested in joining anymore, although it was fun many times and it's a great group of ladies. I guess there is a time for everything! We are going to a place called "Giggle Dam".

It's a dinner theater, that is suppose to be a real hoot to go and see all the fun things they do. I'm looking forward to it.

Monday, we are going out with Toms sister and husband Ken for lunch, so that will be fun, then, we are going to Bellingham, in the US, later in the week with some other fun friends. November and December's calendar is really filling up!! Of course I'll take pictures and show you all our ventures!!

Well, we visited McDonald's today for the first time in years, for a Big Mac. But it's getting close to dinner time, and my tummy is starting to growl, and I can hear Toms from across the room, so I better end this and go find us some dinner.

Talk to you tomorrow!!

SOME PICTURES TAKEN LATELY

Tonight, I'm just showing some shots that I just downloaded from my camera.
The shots of the trees, I took from the bedroom balcony, looking down on the beautiful display of colour. Wow, what Mother Nature can do eh??

Where is that pot of gold??
The day I went to a different hairdresser and he went scissor happy, and smoothed my hair all down flat against my head. I seem to have lost all my red hair too, as it blends with my face. Look at all those wrinkles.....Mother Nature can play horrible tricks too!!!!

This is Byron, Tom's Great-Grandson and I'm his Nana!! Isn't he cute!

Any resemblance???

Let's play "I got your nose Great-Grandpa!!"

This is what they built when they tore Tom's cottage down at Green Lake. Not finished yet!! Big eh? Looks like a Motel!

This was taken from our balcony yesterday, of the mountains, as it was just starting to snow up there. It had started to rain down here!!

What a pretty sight this was, then I walked to the dining room window and when I got there, the mountains had all clouded over and probably won't be seen again for a week, as it's suppose to rain heavily all week!

Today, we didn't do too much, just read, and watched and listened to the heavy rainfall. A little snooze in the afternoon, as it got so dark, around 2 pm. Then we went out and had a light dinner and did an errand or two. Now, I'm heading for my bath, and to get ready to watch Survivor.

Nighty night!!!

HISTORY IN THE MAKING

YEAHHHHHHH OBAMA!!

To witness an amazing new moment of history is incredible. I've been around long enough to witness a few such moments that will go down in history, and I'm so glad to be around to see the victory of Obama's big win as President of the United States.

The whole world seems to be celebrating Barack Obama's BIG win! Lets all hope God guides him well, as so much our Great Country of Canada and the world for that matter has much hope riding on his shoulders!

Both Tom and I have been hit with electionitis and it's been exciting and interesting entertainment, this past MANY months!!

Now what will we watch on TV????

HELLO AGAIN

Hello again! I've tried a couple of times yesterday to write a blog, but it wouldn't save and thus, I couldn't publish it! I think Blogger was having some difficulty with their site yesterday.

So, here I am trying again! Not that I have much to say, but just want to keep in touch with everyone. It's my way of keeping in touch and saying hi.

I'm trying hard to think what we did yesterday when I wrote the blog, but my Lord, is my memory failing me! I can't even remember that far back!! Ohhhh yeah...we did nothing in the morning, except I made fruit smoothies for breakfast, as I've been doing most of last week and I think I overheated our little Bullet, and as I put it away, waiting for it to cool, I said a little prayer over it that it would work when I used it again. This morning, I wasn't in the mood to deal with any kind of problem, so when I was setting the table with cereal bowls, Tom came in and said "Put it all away...we're going out!" What a lovely surprise!! Tom is so incredibly wonderful!!
He did the same thing last night, after I came back in the afternoon from a little walk and a coffee with a friend at Starbucks. I was about to start dinner and Tom said, not to make any, as he was taking me out for a surprise. Ohhh, he can be spot on when I need it!! Last night we went to a lovely little French restaurant, where they make the most fabulous Pizza. Now, I know Pizza is Italian, but who am I to argue with their menu....I love the pizza there and Tom knows it!!

Back to today..Off we went on another of his mystery tours. First we went to the Thrift shop to drop off all the "like new" sweaters and shirts that we cleaned from his side of the closet yesterday. Two HUGE garbage bags full!! Then we had to go see what our matching, swivel rockers, that we dropped off there on Saturday was selling for!! A whopping $30.00 each!! It's amazing the buys you can get at the Thrift shop in furniture. I love old furniture like that and when I look at stuff, I can see a paint job, or a refinishing, and I can hardly walk away from the bargains. What a pack rat I can be.

After doing that , we stopped for coffee, then set off to the Quay at New Westminster, or is that Westminister??? What a disappointment!! It's all under construction and only a few little stores where open and struggling to make a living. It wasn't worth the parking we paid!
So, we had a little lunch and headed off home again. A rainy, type of sleepy day, but always fun with my husband and always some good laughs along the way!

There is snow on the mountains here, and as pretty it is, it's sad to see it there, as we move from Fall to Winter. The leaves are struggling to hold their leaves here, and some places, are very pretty with beautiful shades of red and gold. But, it won't be long until the branches are bare.

The American election is almost over and although, I've been enjoying it and our TV seems to be always on CNN, I will be glad to see it over. Tomorrow, we will likely spend the day, watching history unfold before us and hope that Obama wins. So sad to see his grandmother pass away on the eve of potentially being the first black President of the USA.

We are using lawn chairs until our new chairs will be delivered mid Nov. My rear end is getting very painful sitting here, so I'm outta here and standing up for awhile, or maybe the couch looks good too!!
OUCH!!!!
