STAY TUNED, I WILL RETURN TOMORROW

Well, I've been captivated by this great story, another blockbuster by Wally Lamb, called THE HOUR I FIRST BELIEVED. I've had my nose in it pretty well every chance I could get, so my blogging got pretty much behind.
I have about 2 chapters left, and going soon to the bathtub, to soak and finish the story. I hate when a good book ends, it's like losing a good friend!
Tomorrow, I should have some pictures to put on here of Tom's birthday and a few other pictures I took while we travelled around Vancouver.
So, until then, please keep me on your radar! I'll be back!

LOST FOR WORDS

lost for words

Can you believe, that I’m lost for words! I can’t think of anything interesting to tell you about our day.

I was really tired getting up this morning, and I guess, I can blame it on reading too long into the night.

I did some laundry, that is still sitting in the washing machine. This getting older tends to have  me into one thing, interested in another, or lost in something else! I can’t seem to stick to one thing through to the end!

We went to pick up a Christmas tree that the building bought, but had no way to get delivered here, other then pay the $65.00 Sears wanted to deliver it, which seemed crazy, as the tree was less in price then the delivery! We just happened to have the right size vehicle to get it here.

We stopped for our usual visit to Tim Horton’s and then picked up some fruit for our smoothies for breakfast. We seem into fruit drinks for the moment, and they are delicious and cold and great to sit and sip on while watching “The View”.

Then a quick stop into Wal-Mart for those Mr.. Clean scrubbies for taking marks off the wall, that I messed up by swinging around suitcases!

Then home, watched Oprah, and now, going to finish doing that laundry!

Interesting blog eh! I’ve lost my creative touch, and thinking of giving up the blog. What to do, what to do??? That is the question!!

Okay, back to the washing machine!!!

VANCOUVER’S METROTOWN

Today, we went to the “Gilly-Gilly” lady, our name for the Acupuncturist that Tom goes for his long ago shoulder injury, that I mentioned in another blog. She’s a sweet lady and really knows her stuff and Tom feels it’s really helping him. She gave him this brace/holster type of garment to wear to hold his shoulder back, which gives him relief, and helps to hold himself straighter. He looks like a hit man when his coat flaps back to reveal what could be a gun holster!!!

After that, we went to Metrotown, Vancouver’s largest shopping center with 500 stores and 22 movie theaters. I enjoy going once in awhile, although, find it more overwhelming then anything. Many of the stores are geared to younger people and most are in the size 6 or so size, which leaves me out in the cold!! I went into Sears, which had winter clothes on sale, but I just don’t need them, have no room to put them, and as it was a beautiful day, we only needed a sweater for warmth, I decided, I’d wait until the Spring clothes arrives and then see if I need them and can afford them. Good Lord, I’ve changed!! I used to be a real shopper that when set loose in a mall, felt like heaven! Now, it’s just a quick look here and there, and I’m ready to go home!!

While there, we went to T &T grocery store, a huge big place with nothing but Chinese food. Some delicious looking, however most not to my taste! One thing I find fascinating is the meat counter. Chicken feet and other Chinese delicacies, that are only delicacies only if you are Chinese!!

They have the prettiest looking decorated cakes that are works of art!

Tom and I bought our lunch to take home, some avocado sushi, some sliced, cooked pork and some egg bread and some noodles that Tom loves. So, what’s for dinner tonight…..you guessed it…left-overs!!

Tomorrow, I’m getting a MUCH needed perm!! I can hardly wait!!! This is a new place, just 1/2 block away, so hopefully, it comes out the way I like!

Then we are changing to an different ethnic food, we are going for Indian food with Doug, our friend who is coming over from White Rock.

Well, this is a pretty pathetic boring blog, but I’m into this good book and just can’t wait to get back into it.

Maybe tomorrow will bring better blogging!

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) Poster

"I was born under unusual circumstances." And so begins "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. We follow his story, set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man's life can be.

Last night Tom and I went to see “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button!. It’s a long movie!! Tom hated it, I was enthralled with it.

Such a strange concept to get your head around, and a very different movie, and one you keep thinking about after you leave the movie theater. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think about it at first, but yeah…..I liked it!!

After the movie we went to a little German restaurant in North Vancouver and had delicious Jaegle snitzel,(probably spelled that wrong) potatoes and red cabbage. Mmmm good!! Then drove home on a very dark and rainy night, that was difficult to see, because the last place we got gas, must have used a cloth with some oil in it to clean our windows.

Today, we are soon heading out to pick up the new book by Wally Lamb, that I’ve had on hold at the Library for eons!! Finally, it’s my turn, and if it’s like her past books, I’m going to enjoy it!!

this much I know it true

she's come undone

I loved all these books! I recently brought home Stephen Kings new book, but taste’s of reading material certainly change over the years! Couldn’t even finish it!!

I guess, I better update my book list on here, if anyone is interested in them anyway!

Well, I’ve played with this new site enough for today, and finding out more about it. But for now, I’m saying ta ta, because I don’t have anything else to write about, and I know you must all be sick of looking at the South America/Antarctica pictures, so I’ll give that a rest. Time to go out picture taking again!!

See you soon!!!

Found one you haven’t seen!!

Tom and Linda

Hello everyone, I’m trying a new posting from Window’s Live, that seems to have many more features. This is just a testing one I am doing, so hang in there, until I get it figured out.

Batman sharpened

Hmmm, certainly adds pictures exactly where I want them without always having to line them all up each time I add one, and has many more fonts available.

Seagull taking a drink from fountain Seagull at fountain

Wow!!! I’m impressed!!! This is fantastic!! I can add more then one picture at a time and play with it as well. NEAT!!

Wow….look!!! This is where I often go for a walk to the Pier.

Hang in there with me while I try all these features and I think when I’m done here, I can just upload it to my blogger spot….we will see when it’s time to do it!!!

Well, we are off to see the Benjamin Button movie, so I have to get off here. But, what a great site this is to do the blog on. Now, I’m going to see if it will transfer to my blog site. If it works, you will see it…if not…..back to the drawing board.
