DOWN BY THE SEA IN DUNDARAVE

mermaid-salts

Welcome and I’m back again! Not that I’ve been anywhere, but maybe it’s just there is so much to do, now that the nice weather is here.

The big tree beside us that reaches well past our 7th floor condo is full of little chickadees, and they always come over and fly around the deck, sometimes knocking themselves out on the window! So, yesterday, I went out and bought some birdfeed for them, thinking I’d be able to tame them to come land on my hand, once they got used to me.

Well, they must have gone on vacation, or I’ve highly insulted them with the seed, because not ONE bird has been out there all day!! Humph!!!

I’ve also been hoping to take some close-up pictures after I lured them with the seed, but they are on to me or something! Watch the crows come and take over and I hate them! I’ll have to get a slingshot instead of a camera to shoot with!

Tom and I went to Dundarave, so Tom could get his hair cut and then we went for a little walk out onto the pier. So hot and so pretty out there.

These pictures, I took from the car window, while stuck in traffic, going past the shopping center. Some people talk on their phone….I take pictures!!

Today, we also went to the West Vancouver Senior Center for lunch. Great cafeteria there!  The Center has been under construction and added to this past few years and it’s really beautiful and BIG! This was just outside one of the doors.

This looks like a pile of twigs and twigs you’d sweep off the ground, but it’s actually a very huge big picture made out of twigs, and branches and absolutely beautiful. Who would ever think of doing something like this, is very creative!! This picture just doesn’t do it justice. The following picture is a close up of it.

Some ladies getting healthy in one room and more swimming for health, which I’m looking forward to getting back to, and a cute seal who looks longingly at the water.

I took this picture not so much to show Tom, but to show the cute chairs made from logs. Of course, Tom looks pretty good eh?

Then we went to the Library, where I wanted to find out how to do  ancestor searches online that can’t be done from home. But, I can only sit there searching for so long before my eyes begin to burn and I have to quit, but what a huge amount of information can be found.

And that’s my blog for today! Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!

I WROTE YOUR NAME

I wrote your name

I wrote your name on a piece of paper, but by accident I threw it away.
I wrote your name on my hand, but it washed away.
I wrote your name in the sand, but the waves whispered it away.
I wrote your name in my heart, and forever it will stay.
I believe in angels, the kind that heaven sends.   I'm surrounded by
angels, but I call them my friends!

Continued later.

ANCESTOR’S

ancestors

What a trip I’ve been on! Back through time, with pictures of my father’s side of the family, with my new found second cousin who lives in Victoria. She has a wealth of information, pictures, documents and interesting facts  back to 1806.

But, how mind- boggling it all is when everyone was handed down the same names!! I’ve been trying to figure it out, even though it’s been put down in writing for me, it’s still a mystery!

If this family wouldn’t make one interesting book, I don’t know what would. A life through generations with great stories!

We’ve had such great warm weather lately, and the trees are losing all the white fluff, that looks like snow has landed, and the air is cloudy with pollution, and my eyes, are red and sore! A problem I never had in Belleville, Ontario! First time, I’ve been bothered with allergies, or it just could be getting old and developing dry eyes, that leak and leak and get more red and just worse! Poor me eh?

Tom did very well on his walk today and walked almost to the mall, which is quite a hike. Wasn’t out of breath and went along at a good pace. I’m so proud of him. He seems to be coming along a little more each day, which is heaven! Still cranky though which isn’t like him at all. Seriously!!

No Pictures to show you today and not much to tell you. I could start showing you ancestor pictures, but I know you’d click off fast!!

So, maybe better blogging tomorrow.

PICNIC TIME, SUN, MON and UPDATE ON TOM AND HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY

picnic

The weather has been spectacular the past week or so, and we’ve been trying to get out for little walks for Tom, although, I think we should be doing it more often, like in a little stroll up around the block in the evening also, but, we seem to always get side tracked with something else!

Yesterday, we decided to go to the park for a picnic. The park was so full of families with the same idea, that we were lucky to find a close parking spot and  place to sit! There where lots of delicious smells coming from BBQ’s and the picnic tables had colourful table clothes and various and interesting looking dishes on them.

Our picnic, was quite the opposite! We had egg salad sandwiches, ginger-ale, and a cookie and a banana!

Looks like Tom is have a wonderful time eh?

We stayed for about an hour ate our sandwiches, and came back home! Great picnic people we are eh?

So, today was another nice day, and we got up early as Tom had to give some more blood at the lab before his appointment with the cardiologist next week. Tom is still feeling very tired, and sleeps often during the day, which is good for the body to recover after such serious surgery. His leg where they removed the vein for the new arteries in the heart, seems to make him more uncomfortable than anything, and he sure didn’t think he’d have pain from there! Apparently after talking to other people, it’s quite common to be very sore after.

So, after breakfast, Tom went off for a snooze and I went to pick up a part for the fountain on our deck which is leaking. I hope I was able to fix it!! We’ll know tomorrow.

After that, I went to a little shopping mall called Park and Tilford. There is a lovely little garden right in the middle of the mall and I took a few pictures. It’s very pretty there and so peaceful!
