ONTARO AND PORT DOVER

It was a fabulous day and Kass came up with a wonderful plan to go to Port Dover for a picnic along the water and just have a relaxing day!
It was wonderful!

I THINK Kass said that was Ohio across the water but I could have heard wrong!

We found this little patch of earth to lay our bones and set up to relax, eat, read and listen to music.

Kass relaxing

Really relaxing

Roxanne TRYING to relax, but little Miss Mischief kept wanting to play!

Finally they both settle down! Oop's..is that TJ or a rag beside her?

Me? I was relaxing until I got too much in the shade and was cool, so my loving sister bundled me up.
I just lay there and looked at the beauty above me!

Just relaxing, studying the leaves and my feet and that damn broken toe, that still is causing me much grief and pain from FEB! I've had a shot of cortisone in it, but not much help. I have heat rash on my feet from my shoes too!! Poor Linda!

When we first arrived at Port Dover, we each had a Perch Dinner at this very bustling fish restaurant called KNECHTEL. Apparently it's the best in town!! Also, my sister said there is a connection to Capreol, with the daughter of my brother's family friends owing this place, or something like that!

Before we headed home we stopped at Tim Horton's and I had my second in 20 years milk shake at the new Stone Cold Ice Cream which is now part of Tim's. This is the same delicious milkshake I swore I wouldn't have for another 20 years, and I'm having another within a week! Ohhh, again, I wasn't feeling well after. The ice cream is delicious, but I think my system has turned lactose intolerant or something!

Oh! What's going on here!!!

The end of a wonderful day! Goodbye Port Dover!!

PICNIC TIME, SUN, MON and UPDATE ON TOM AND HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY

picnic

The weather has been spectacular the past week or so, and we’ve been trying to get out for little walks for Tom, although, I think we should be doing it more often, like in a little stroll up around the block in the evening also, but, we seem to always get side tracked with something else!

Yesterday, we decided to go to the park for a picnic. The park was so full of families with the same idea, that we were lucky to find a close parking spot and  place to sit! There where lots of delicious smells coming from BBQ’s and the picnic tables had colourful table clothes and various and interesting looking dishes on them.

Our picnic, was quite the opposite! We had egg salad sandwiches, ginger-ale, and a cookie and a banana!

We stayed for about an hour ate our sandwiches, and came back home! Great picnic people we are eh?

So, today was another nice day, and we got up early as Tom had to give some more blood at the lab before his appointment with the cardiologist next week. Tom is still feeling very tired, and sleeps often during the day, which is good for the body to recover after such serious surgery. His leg where they removed the vein for the new arteries in the heart, seems to make him more uncomfortable than anything, and he sure didn’t think he’d have pain from there! Apparently after talking to other people, it’s quite common to be very sore after.

So, after breakfast, Tom went off for a snooze and I went to pick up a part for the fountain on our deck which is leaking. I hope I was able to fix it!! We’ll know tomorrow.

After that, I went to a little shopping mall called Park and Tilford. There is a lovely little garden right in the middle of the mall and I took a few pictures. It’s very pretty there and so peaceful!
