Oh Lord, What Will I Ramble About Today?

Life hasn't been very exciting today, so be prepared to be bored with this one! Lets see....got up, showered, left my hair uncurled, so it lookes like a mass of pubic hairs on my head!! ( I didn't say the blog wouldn't be shocking....you all know me better then that!!) Then I attacked the pineapple I bought yesterday, cutting and slicing it up for breakfast It was delicious and very, very sweet and so juicy! The hardest thing I did today was to put soap in the dishwasher and push the button!

Then Tom and I have books we've almost finished reading, so we cuddled up in bed with the electric blanket and finished our books. Mine was that mystery I mentioned in an earlier post with the expression "feeling your neck". I'm not a great mystery reader, and always find them so unbelievable and I seem to be able to know "who did it" before the book is hardly 1/4 way though! But, I stuck it out! Then we had tea and cookies and now, I'm watching Dr. Phil as I write this stuff. His show is as sick as always!

I had a note from Lynn this morning and she told me about the mural in the cafeteria in the College where I worked in Ontario being obliterated over the Christmas holidays!! I couldn't believe it!! This was a beautiful, colorful mural on a huge wall in the cafeteria, depicting life at the college, with students and staff, captured in paint, going about their daily work there. The Artist, worked for a year or more, taking pictures with his camera of daily life at the college, then painting it in beautiful colours on the wall. It was bold and interesting and gave life on it's own to a rather institutional, drab setting. I could stand and look at it and everytime, see something different and also pick out staff and students depicted with the painters brush. It was fun to see it being painted and coming to life. I can't believe there was no talk or discussion with the staff or students before the Christmas holiday about removing the mural. When school resumed in January, the wall had been painted all white.....the painting GONE!! When I read that, I was shocked and sick about it!! Why??? Why, in the "powers that be" in their wisdom, would want to get rid of it for. Apparently they said, that after only a few years, the paint was chipping. Then I read that the Artist who painted it was furious and if he had been notified, he could have restored it! AHHHHH!!! It makes me so mad!!! It was a lovely piece of art, and I hope the Artist has legal rights to have the College make amends to his work.

That's my rant for today!

Well, not quite finished ranting, but on a different subject! Did you see where Australia has decided and is advising their people that Canada is a bad place to visit.

Australians are advised to be cautious because of "the risk of a terrorist attack" in Canada, heavy snow, windchill and ice in the winter, and forest fires that can erupt "at any time."
British Columbia, in particular, was singled out as being in an active earthquake zone and "subject to avalanches," along with Alberta.

Lord!! Canada isn't the only place that gets huge amounts of snow and ice and windchill!! I can't believe they probably still think we live in igloos in 2008! Don't they listen to the news and see what's going on in other places in the world? I always thought Canada a pretty decent and safe place to live, although will admit a little shiver of fear whenever I think of our high chance of earthquakes along the Pacific coast. Last year, I decided to put together a survival kit....just in case. So far, I have a flashlight, you turn a crank to get light, instead of using batteries that will die out. Then I kind of forgot about survival! So, to all you people in Ontario reading this, you can rest assurd if an earthquake happen's here....we have light!! Guess, I should get on this some more and become more serious. Maybe Australia know's something we don't.

The sun continues to shine here and it's lovely out. We've had a good week, weatherwise and otherwise! Friday has been a quiet day at home. We'll have our supper soon...spareribs and salad, and then I'm cutting up apples and pears and throwing in candied ginger, and cooking it all together in the microwave. Getting hungry thinkingof it!

Then my bath, jump into bed, start a new book or watch tv and there ends another day and another week. They do fly by! Here's wishing you all a fun filled and safe weekend!

Picture of the day:

This is my cat Batman. He's a well travelled cat that flew with me from Ontario to B.C, also been up into the interior of BC to the Cottage a few times. He's approx. 16 years old. Beautiful cat with an attitude and is VERY demanding!!!
This is the Love of my life! Having a little snog in the forest. That's TJ between us, our other pet. She's a Maltese, 11 years old and a pain in the neck!!! Sorry TJ, but it's true!

  1. Lovely rambles Linda...you can ramble on anytime you wish; it's still 100% enjoyable.

I think Australia is in a political tizzy with Canada at the moment..we are one of the safer countries and one of the very nicest countries in the world.

If I were that artist, I would be hopping mad!!!! I think the powers that be just wanted it removed, which is very sad.

    Have another good one eh!

  2. Your Thoughts: "Life hasn't been very exciting today, so be prepared to be bored with this one! I just loved it, mainly because I was using a very expensive Salon shampoo for a long time, finally decided "Screw it!" I was with my Mom one day in Wally World and came across some old shampoo I had used years ago for only 99cent a bottle. Coconut something. Guess what? NO PUBIC HAIRS anymore on top. So my dear, the only Pubic hair I can offically say I have is below (what is left at my age). Yes, Linda even I can be so bold! (I think its the "Red Hat Society that allows this) LOL
Getting back to your blog, I was reading it and I thought you put a pineapple on your head or something...mind you I was reading your blog while I was having a migraine, under the influence of RX. I was just laughing so hard.

Your blogs bring so much laughter and smiles to my days. I love you dearly, have all these years. You know that.

Keep your thoughts coming, and I will leave my comments as well, its like blogging along with you.

    Peace and harmony my dear.
